Wanderers’ rest humane association, inc. is the sole open admissions dog and cat shelter in Madison County, NY and services hundreds of homeless, lost and surrendered animals since 1981.WRHA is contracted as a requirement by Madison County and works hand in hand with dog control officers to ensure these animals are sheltered. WRHA opens its doors to all community members and animals in need.
Wanderers’ Rest Humane Association, Inc. serves the mission by being dedicated to providing the highest quality care and compassion for the animals entrusted to the organization, striving to enhance adoptability, and re-homing adoptable animals at the highest rate possible, while educating and leading our community in creating a more humane society. Through the public education programs, the shelter promotes responsible pet ownership and humane treatment of animals everywhere.
